2018/19 Season: Splendour of Dresden

Sunday, December 2, 2018, 7:30 p.m.
Knox-Metropolitan United Church
2340 Victoria Avenue

Per Sonatori opens their season with a delightful treasure trove of composers whose names may not be familiar to even fans of the baroque era. Pisendel, Zelenka, Porpora, Heinichen and Hasse to name a few. These composers will be featured in our tour of historic Dresden. Each composer has their own colourful expression and we welcome you to listen carefully and decide for yourself if they are similar to other composers that you are familiar with or if they have a place for themselves in the history of baroque music. Dresden was the place to be in the baroque era and thus many of the best instrumentalists and composers were drawn to this area. The resulting music was stunning with much technically demanding playing.

Tickets available at the door and Paper Umbrella (2724 13th Ave).
Adults $25, Students/Seniors $20
